Every tradition, decoration, key dish carries a beautiful wish for the coming year. Fireworks and firecrackers are meant to ward off any lingering negativity from the past year. Symbolic dishes such as dumplings, fish, glutinous rice cake (Nian Gao), and sweet rice balls (Tang Yuan), each represents a heartfelt wish.
